The Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “JurFem” will hold the Third All-Ukrainian Women Lawyers’ Forum with the support of the USAID New Justice Program, the Ukrainian-Canadian Support to Judicial Reform Project in Ukraine, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, and the EU Project Pravo-Justice. The event will be held in a mixed format with offline and online presentations by speakers.
The All-Ukrainian Women Lawyers’ Forum is an annual event that brings together women from all over Ukraine, including judges, lawyers, prosecutors, notaries, law enforcement officials, and other legal professionals. The forum aims to draw the attention of the legal community to the protection of women’s rights, in particular their access to justice, especially in the context of gender-based violence, as well as the challenges women-lawyers face in combating gender discrimination.
The topic of this year’s Forum is “Words are Important for the Rights and Law”, it will highlight the problems of gender-sensitive communication both within the legal community and with society.
Key issues of the Third All-Ukrainian Forum of Women-Lawyers:
- Gender-sensitive communication in the legal community: why are words important for rights and law?
- The impact of education on the formation of a gender-sensitive environment;
- Cases related to gender-based violence: why language matters?
