Law and Democracy NGO Has Presented Results of Activities Aimed at Improving Access to Justice for People with Disabilities

Law and Democracy NGO, a grantee of the USAID New Justice Program, has presented results of grant-funded activities aimed at improving access to justice for people with disabilities.  Participants to the event – representatives from the civic society and judiciary – familiarized themselves with results of implementation of the training program titled “Improving Judges’ Skills in Working and Communicating with People with Disabilities”, lessons learnt, and experience of administering this program by instructors of the National School of Judges and non-government organizations. Besides, they discussed specifics of participation of a sign language interpreter in legal proceedings, outcomes of training events for sign language interpreters and identified ways for further application of the program.
