Over 14,000 Potential Enrollees in Master Programs in Law Sat for the Mandatory External Independent Standardized Entrance Exam

The Ukrainian Center for Education Quality Assessment administered the unified admission test for potential enrollees in Law and International Law master programs using the Mandatory External Independent Standardized Entrance Exam methodology on July 4, 2019. According to the Center, 14,259 young people passed the test.

The test consisted of 30 assignments intended to test general legal competencies and 100 assignments in eight basic legal subjects. The total test duration was 200 minutes.

Earlier, on July 2, 2019, potential enrollees in the above mentioned and other master programs sat for the unified foreign language admission test. The latter lasted one hour and contained 42 questions on reading comprehension and language usage. The results of tests will be processed automatically and be posted on the website of the Ukrainian Center for Education Quality Assessment in users’ accounts within two weeks of the day of a relevant test.

The Mandatory External Independent Standardized Entrance Exam has been implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice with the support from the USAID New Justice Program. It is an important component of a comprehensive reform of legal education in Ukraine. The test has been administered nationwide for three years in raw. It ensures a transparent and fair competition of state and private law schools for access to government funding and best students.
