Training for Public Integrity Council Members on Effective Communications Was Held

The USAID New Justice Program (New Justice) provided support to the Public Integrity Council (PIC) in conducting training for PIC members on effective communications. New Justice expert Ben Wilson, former Head of Communications of the United Kingdom Supreme Court conducted several training sessions, including on dealing effectively with media and crisis communications and on social media as platform to tell PIC’s own story.

The participants learnt about the principles of how to make a written content about PIC interesting and how to communicate in social media, discussed how effectively handle various crisis situations and conducted several brief mock-up interviews. Prior to the training Mr. Wilson had reviewed a draft PIC Communication Strategy and provided his recommendations for its improvement at the training. Participants also discussed how attained skills would help them raising public awareness about PIC activities and its role in the judicial selection and qualifications evaluation processes.
