USAID New Justice Program Conducted the Third Meeting of Its Stakeholder Advisory Group

The USAID New Justice Program (New Justice) in cooperation with OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and Government of Canada conducted the third meeting of its Stakeholder Advisory Group (SAG). The SAG’s role is defining and reviewing the high-level outcome indicators based on the application of international tools for justice sector development and providing direction for further programming through review of New Justice monitoring and evaluation data to develop roadmaps for New Justice and its Ukrainian beneficiaries. During the meeting, the group members got acquainted with results and conclusions of the first trial monitoring program and drafts of new methodologies to measure public trust in the judiciary and evaluate justice system efficiency. They also discussed results of the national surveys of court staff and legal professionals working in courts but not court employees and participated in the second annual expert survey of SAG members regarding judicial independence and accountability in Ukraine using European Network of Councils for Judiciary (ENCJ) indicators. The SAG includes representatives of New Justice, Government of Ukraine counterparts, international donor programs and projects as well as civil society organizations that actively participate in justice sector reform.
